TERM I: May 27 – June 27 (five weeks)

REGISTRATION PERIOD: From March 10 to May 8 you may register for Term I courses online using the BUSI registration system or by mail. You must complete payment before you register. You can pay for courses in person in the Student Accounts Office or by mail to:

LATE REGISTRATION: From May 9 to May 29, the process will be the same for registration and payment, but you will incur a $30 late registration payment fee.

LAST DAY TO REGISTER ONLINE: The last day that you can use the BUSI online registration system to add courses or change your schedule is Thursday, May 29. After that date, changes must be made in the Registrar's Office.

ADD DEADLINE FOR TERM I: Thursday, May 29, is the last day to add courses for Term I. After that date, an approved Late Add Petition must be completed and a late add fee of $15 per course will be assessed.

DROP DEADLINE FOR TERM I: Thursday, May 29, is the last day that students may drop a course for Term I without having a grade recorded on their Binghamton University transcript.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD FOR TERM I: Between May 30 and June 16, students who successfully withdraw from a course will receive a grade of "W" on their transcript. Students must contact the Registrar's Office to withdraw or change grading options for courses during regular business hours, through June 16. After this date, an approved Late Course Withdraw petition must be submitted and a late drop fee of $15 per course will be assessed. June 16 is also the last day that a student can change his or her grading option for a Term I course.

TERM II: July 7 – August 8 (five weeks)

REGISTRATION PERIOD: From March 10 to June 17 you may register for Term II courses. Through May 29, you can register online using the BUSI registration system or by mail. After May 29, you must come to the Registrar's Office (SW-119) to register or register by mail. You must complete payment before you register. You can pay for courses in person in the Student Accounts Office or by mail to:

LATE REGISTRATION: On June 18 or after, you must come to the Registrar's Office (SW-119) to register or register by mail. First, however, you must complete payment — including a $30 late registration administrative fee — with the Student Accounts office before you can register.

ADD DEADLINE FOR TERM II: Thursday, July 10, is the last day to add courses for Term II. After that, an approved Late Add Academic Petition must be completed and a late add fee of $15 per course will be assessed. All adds after the first day of classes require proof of tuition payment prior to processing of the course registration; late fees may be applicable.

DROP DEADLINE FOR TERM II: Thursday, July 10, is the last day that students may drop a course for Term II without having a grade recorded on their Binghamton University transcript.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD FOR TERM II: Between July 11 and July 25, students who successfully withdraw from a course will receive a grade of "W" on their transcript. Students must contact the Registrar's Office to withdraw or change grading options for courses during regular business hours, through July 25. After this date, an approved Late Course Withdraw petition must be submitted and a late drop fee of $15 per course will be assessed. July 25 is also the last day that a student can change his or her grading option for a Term II course.

TERM III: Variable dates

Term III courses are courses that do not fall within the parameters of Term I or Term II. The following are considered Term III courses:

  • Courses that begin prior to May 27.
  • Courses that start in Term I and end in Term II.
  • Courses starting in Term II and ending after August 8.
  • Thesis and independent studies are also Term III courses.

For a Term III course that starts in Term I, the above schedule for Term I registration and payment schedules will apply. Add/drop deadlines and withdrawal periods will be adjusted based on the actual length of the courses.
