Limited financial aid may be available to Summer Session students matriculated at Binghamton University. Students enrolling for six or more credit hours may be eligible for the Federal Direct Student Loan Program, Federal Direct Parent (PLUS) loan and/or the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). Financial aid received for Summer Session attendance will reduce available assistance during the academic year. Apply for aid as early as possible by filing the 2008-09 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Binghamton's federal school code: 002836 must be listed on the FAFSA. A TAP application may also be required. For more information on summer financial aid, students are encouraged to visit http://bingfa.binghamton.edu or call 607-777-2428.
Students may defer payment based on financial aid if the aid is finalized. In this case, the student would complete a payment form listing the financial aid, and submit the form to the Student Accounts Office by the appropriate deadline. If the aid is not fully verified it will not be allowed as credit and you will be required to make payment for courses if you wish to register.
The following tuition rates are in effect for the 2008 Summer Session. Summer Session students must also include the appropriate level of Summer Comprehensive and Activity fees (at rates listed below) when calculating their final costs on the Binghamton University Payment Form. Please refer to the Binghamton University Payment Form for clarification of the Summer Session tuition and fee payments.
All tuition and fee rates are subject to revision by the University without notice.
Important Note: Please review the Residency Determination section of the Student Accounts Office website at http://studentaccounts.binghamton.edu for information on residency requirements and tuition billing or contact Brent in Student Accounts at 607-777-2235.

Federal Title IV financial aid (Direct Loan, Pell Grant, Parent Loan) recipients who withdraw from or drop all classes in the Summer Session will have funds returned to loan and/or grant programs based upon federal return of Title IV financial aid regulations. Recipients of New York State TAP grants will lose eligibility for the TAP grant for summer. Eligibility for any other type of financial aid is based upon review. Any liability resulting from return of financial aid funds is the responsibility of the student.
A loan recipient who drops below the minimum number of credits required to receive financial aid but remains enrolled in the Summer Session may be subject to the resulting refund being returned as a repayment on the loan.
