Audition Requirements
Option 1: Residential Program | Option 2: Commuter Program

Residential Program:

3 week workshop and housing

Program dates:

July 27 - August 17, 2008

Times:

Students will be involved in both morning and evening sessions with afternoon classes in between sessions held daily from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Rate:

$2,995

Inclusions:

The program, dormitory rooms, meals, off-hour activities, and opportunity to perform in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida. The residential fee also includes ALL the classes except for private voice lessions. Working with a team of teacher/specialists, students explore the distinctive challenges of the musical theatre genre through survey work with songs, characterizations, vocal work and choreography.

Audition Requirements for Residential Students

  • Prepare selections including: Two contrasting musical theater pieces (solos from "Beauty and the Beast" encouraged), 1-2 minute contemporary monologue
  • If you have dance experience, include a one-minute sample of movement or dance representative of skill level (include pirouettes, jumps and any type of acrobatic movements
  • Record the audition performances onto a standard full-size VHS tape or standard DVD-R
  • Label your recording with your name and "Musical Theatre Workshop" due by June 1
